At that time, the small and big traders of Vadodara city and district including nearby districts are choosing Diwalipura village near Vadodara to do business and to burst firecrackers in Diwali to buy firecrackers at wholesale price. In the last five-seven years, Diwalipura has become a major hub as a firecracker market. This time indigenous crackers have dominated the firecrackers markets and there is a huge demand for indigenous drone firecrackers against China’s dragon firecrackers.
Bimonthly crackers are sold
Ismail Kapadwala, the biggest firecracker market trader of Vadodara and Diwalipura said that since 1990 we have been involved in firecracker business and for the last 10-12 years we have been doing business of firecrackers every year at Diwalipura village which is on the way to Dabhoi. At present, traders dealing in small and seasonal firecrackers are buying and carrying firecrackers. Along with this, buying firecrackers in large quantities, firecracker enthusiasts, shopkeepers, small and big factory owners have also started buying firecrackers. Retail sales will start from next week.
There are 40 plus shops in Diwalipura
He further said that Diwalipura village has more than 40 crackers shops. Diwalipura has become a firecracker market hub in Vadodara city-district. This time only Made in India firecrackers are being sold in the firecracker market. So far China’s dragon crackers were in demand, but this time there is a huge demand for indigenous drone crackers. Apart from this, the firecrackers market has different varieties like Dabba Kothi, Mati Kothi, Peacock, Fless Light Firecrackers. However, consumers will have to pay a price hike of 25 to 30 percent to celebrate Prakash Parva Diwali. There has been an increase in the prices of petrol, diesel, materials and labor for making crackers.
People are making more purchases due to the convenience of digital payments
Bharatbhai Sohanda, a wholesaler, said that I have been in the business of crackers for 40 years. This time, despite the 25 to 30 percent increase in the prices of firecrackers, there is a hope that Dhoom will continue to be bought, because already small and big traders are buying Dhoom of firecrackers. Besides, shopkeepers and company owners are also shopping with intent to burst crackers on Diwali. This time new fireworks like helicopters, drones have come in the market. These crackers are in huge demand. Only indigenous firecrackers are being sold in Diwalipura market. Despite the increase in the price of crackers, people are buying crackers. As the digital payment system has arrived in every sector, people are shopping with care, including crackers.
Reasonable prices, quality and variety are available
Maheshbhai Rathava, a trader living at Dabhoi Road Soma Lake in Vadodara and dealing in retail firecrackers, said that he comes to Diwalipura to buy firecrackers as he gets firecrackers at wholesale prices and their quality and variety. This time the sale of crackers seems to be good. Even though there are still ten days left for Diwali, people have already started buying crackers.
Bought less due to price hike
Customer Vikesbhai said that I have been coming to buy crackers at Diwalipura for the last few years. Cheap and good crackers are available here. This time there is an increase in prices compared to last year. However, crackers have to be bought for children’s enjoyment. Due to the price hike, the budget for the purchase of firecrackers has been cut. This time I bought crackers worth Rs 1500 only.
Want to build a road to Diwalipura
Traders of Diwalipura firecracker market jointly said that Diwalipura has become the hub of firecracker market. Small and big traders from surrounding districts including Vadodara city-district come to buy crackers. Apart from this, five days before Diwali, retail customers also come to buy crackers. The road from the main road of Dabhoi to Patakadabazar has been rutted over the years, but the road is not being built by the system. On the one hand, they talk about helping traders. On the other hand basic amenities like roads are not provided. Despite several representations regarding Diwalipura road, the road is not constructed by the concerned department.
