Uttar Pradesh News : Fierce fire breaks out in Bhadohi's Durga Puja pandal, 2 dead, more than 35 burnt
A huge fire broke out during the Durga Puja pandal in Aurai Kotwali area of Bhadohi district during the Aarti. Meanwhile, a large number of people were present in the pandal. Two people were killed and around 35 people were burnt due to the fire.
A painful accident took place on Sunday night in Bhadohi district of Uttar Pradesh. A massive fire broke out during the Aarti in the Durga Puja pandal in Aurai Kotwali area. Meanwhile, a large number of people were present in the pandal. As many as 35 people were burnt due to the fire. Two people died there. In a hurry, people informed the police station and fire brigade. On receiving information, the police admitted the injured to a nearby CHC, from where the critically injured were referred to Varanasi. The fire brigade team brought the fire under control.
In Aurai, 19 burn victims of the Puja Pandal fire were taken to the BHU Burn Center in Varanasi through a green corridor by the Varanasi Commissionerate Police. CP himself monitored it. All are being treated in the burn ward. Let us tell you that an idol of Maa Durga is installed on Navratri by Ekta Club located on Aurai-Bhadohi road. Due to the attraction of Ekta Club pandal, devotees throng here during Navratri.
Most of the injured were women and children
Around 150 people reached the pandal at eight o’clock on Sunday night to attend Maa Durga’s aarti. Don’t know how the pandal caught fire during Aarti? In no time, the fire engulfed the entire pandal. On seeing the fire, there was a stampede in the pandal. Due to the crowd, some people got trapped inside and got burnt in the fire.
People who came out of the pandal informed the police station and the fire brigade. Considering the seriousness of the incident, a large number of police forces including DM-SP reached the spot. The fire brigade team also reached the spot and brought the fire under control. It is being told that most of the injured are women and children. The police quickly admitted all to the nearest CHC, from where the severely burned ones were referred to Varanasi.

Giving information about the incident, DM Gaurang Rathi said that the cause of the fire is still not clear. Some people are talking about the fire due to Aarti, while some people are saying that it is a short circuit. About 35 people have been burnt due to the fire. Two people have died. Most of the injured are women and children. Around 20 injured have been referred to AU Trauma Center between Varanasi. 15 people are being treated in CHC. The incident is being investigated.
