NAVRATRI 2022: Mother Mahagauri will pacify Rahudosh, worship this divine form of Navadurga today

It is said that by worshiping Mata Mahagauri, the seeker gets supernatural achievements. He achieves success even in seemingly impossible tasks and his every wish is fulfilled.

The most glorious Varna and the brilliant Mahagauri is the eighth form of Navdurga. On the eighth day of Navratri (Navratri 2022) is the glory of worshiping this Mahagauri form of the Goddess. According to Puranic story, Goddess Shailputri was very beautiful and dignified at the age of sixteen. This form of the goddess came to be known as ‘Mahagauri’. Goddess Mahagauri rules Rahu (planet). Goddess has four arms. He holds a trident in one hand and a damra in the other. The third hand of the goddess is in Abhayamudra and the fourth hand is in Varadamudra. His vehicle is Taurus. Hence it is also known as ‘Vrisharudha’.

Mahagauri Mahatma

Mother Parvati is worshiped under multiple names as Adhyashakti. Many stories of which are known in our scriptures and folk tales. The story of Mother Mahagauri is also connected with Mother Parvati. Mother Parvati performed extreme worship to get Lord Shankar as her husband. The goddesses did penance. Mother’s voice turned dark due to extreme austerity. Bholanath was pleased with Mother Parvati who became a farmer and completed her penance. At this time Lord anointed Mother Parvati with Ganga water. At the same time, Mother Parvati assumed a highly radiant form and became Shubhavarna.

She got the name Mahagauri due to her form of goddess. This form of Navadurga is worshiped on the eighth day of Navratri. The varna of the goddess is Gaur, her clothes and ornaments are white, hence she is also known as ‘Swetambardhara’. Mata Mahagauri is the goddess who fulfills the wishes of devotees in a very happy posture and fulfills the sad by remembrance.

Mahagauri Poojan Ritual

⦁ Mogra flowers should be offered to Mother Mahagauri at the time of worship.

⦁ Coconut should be offered to Goddess in Naivedya.

⦁ Mataji should have Sitaphal as fruit prasad.

⦁ Devotees doing sadhana of Mataji should wear peacock feather colored clothes today. Because wearing a peacock feather colored garment gives the seeker a sense of freshness and compassion.

A seeker should chant this mantra at least 108 times to attain the grace of Mother Mahagauri.
