10 Electric Vehicle Models in Five Years:
Tata Motors already has two cars in its electric vehicle portfolio, Nexon and Tigor. Nexon Electric is selling well in the Indian market. Now by bringing the Tiago, the company will stake its claim in the hatchback electric segment as well. Tata Motors aims to launch 10 electric vehicle models in the next five years. Tiago Electric is also one of them.
Tata Tiago Electric Price:
Talking about the prices of Tata Tiago Electric, it can come in the range of 10 lakh rupees. The company claims that it will be the cheapest electric car in the country. Tata Tiago Electric has a great range. It can cover a distance of about 300 km on a single charge. It can be equipped with a 26kWh battery pack.
The company is already selling the Tigor EV, one of the cheapest electric vehicles in the domestic market. Its price is 12.49 lakh rupees. On the other hand, other electric vehicle manufacturers are offering their cars at prices above Rs 20 lakh. Other EV makers are selling their vehicles for over Rs 20 lakh.
Tata Motors has achieved 88 percent share in the electric passenger vehicle market in India based on its Nexon EV and Tigor EV. The company has sold 3,845 electric vehicles including Nexon EV Prime, Nexon EV Max and Tigor EV in August 2022. The new Tiago EV is claimed to feature features like cruise control. The charging time of the new EV may also be similar to that of the Tigor EV. It is expected that the Tigor EV will charge from 0-80 percent in around 65 minutes.
