Why is International Peace Day celebrated?

International Peace Day: Giving peace is the main purpose of International Peace Day or World Peace Day, which is celebrated on September 21 per year. In 1981, the UN was named International Peace Day on the third Tuesday of September. This was also the day when the UN General Assembly held its initial sessions. After that, the celebration of International Peace Day was September 21 from 2002.


In terms of lack of healthcare reach, the UN says the epidemic is known for strictly killing the deprived and marginalized groups. As of April 2021, more than 687 million corona vaccines have been given dose globally, but no more than 100 countries have received a single dose. People trapped in conflict are especially sensitive.

UN says, “In the period of Korona has been accompanied by a rise in stigma, discrimination and hatred, which loses more lives rather than protecting them. The Corona virus behave itself without any care where we are or what we believe. Each country should do together. We must remember that we are not the enemy of each other. In order to heal from the destruction of the epidemic, we must peace with each other. ”


On International Peace Day, the World Organization encourages countries to celebrate this day by complying with “24 hours non -violence”. In 2001, the United Nations General Assembly (UNGA) voted to call “non -violence and ceasefire” on World Peace Day. India has a huge legacy to contribute to world peace.

This year’s World Peace Day theme is “Shaping Peace Together”. The United Nations encourage people to celebrate the day by spreading compassion, kindness and hope on the faces of the people in the midst of a coronary epidemic. Corona epidemic has emerged as a common enemy in the world today. Kovid 19 reminds us that we are all interconnected and need to work together to cope with the global challenges.
