Kohli was left alone after leaving the captaincy, only Dhoni supported in grief, big disclosure

Virat Kohli was the captain of Team India in all three formats till a year ago, but now he is a part of the team only as a batsman.
The last one or two years have not been good at all for the Indian cricket team’s star batsman and former captain Virat Kohli. Along with his failure with the bat, his stature in Team India has also waned as a year ago, where he was the captain of the team in all three formats, now he is part of the team only as a batsman. He has been under a lot of pressure due to the silent bat and then the captaincy controversy, on which he is now expressing his pain. Kohli has said that only MS Dhoni supported him in that period.
Kohli, who openly talked about mental pressure in an interview before the start of Asia Cup 2022, has now told about the period when he resigned from the last format i.e. Test as the captain of Team India. Kohli has told that after his decision, where many former players talked about many things in the media and gave suggestions, but only former captain and his very close Mahendra Singh Dhoni spoke.
Many have my number, only Dhoni talked about it
Kohli scored a half-century against Pakistan on Sunday, 4 September. However, Team India could not register a win despite this. After the team’s defeat, Kohli came to the press conference, where he was asked about the match as well as his return to form and the bad phase. During this, while talking about Dhoni, Kohli said,
“When I left the Test captaincy, I got a message from only one person with whom I have played before – MS Dhoni. Many people have my number. Many people give suggestions on TV, there would have been a lot to say but no message came from those who have my number.
Special connection with Dhoni
Kohli said that he has a special bond with Dhoni and there was never any sense of insecurity between the two. The veteran batsman said, “There is an honor and a connection when one is genuine with someone, it looks like this because there is a sense of security on both sides. They don’t want anything from me and I don’t want anything from them. There is no sense of insecurity.”
About a week and a half ago, Kohli had also made a tweet about his special relationship with Dhoni, in which Kohli wrote that playing under Dhoni’s captaincy and being the vice-captain was the best phase of his career.
‘Straight talk advice’
For the past several months, many former cricketers have given different advice to Kohli in the midst of his bad phase. Someone advised him to take a break, while someone raised questions on taking a break. Some veterans demanded to drop from the team itself. Giving a message to these former cricketers, Kohli said that it would have been better if anyone had suggestions for him, told them in private. They said,
“If I want to say something about someone, I tell him personally. If you also want to help someone. If you suggest in front of the whole world, it is of no value to me. If that is something that I mean, something that I am interested in, then you can also talk to me directly.”
The former captain also said that he sees all this as he has been living his life ‘honestly’. At the same time, Kohli said that as long as he is able to play, he will continue to play like this.
