In Madhya Pradesh’s Jabalpur, a mother was sitting outside a hospital with her 5-year-old sick son on her lap, but no doctor was present during the OPDMA. The son dies without timely treatment. The mother repeatedly asks the son to get up… son get up… son get up… but due to lack of treatment the son died. The mother was crying with her son on her chest. A video of this heart-wrenching incident has surfaced, in which the mother is seen crying outside the hospital.
This incident is from Bargi Primary Health Center in Jabalpur district. The family members of the deceased child say that the child was sick with diarrhea and vomiting. He was taken to the hospital at 10 am on Wednesday. But there was no doctor here. The family has blamed the hospital management for the child’s death.
Health Minister Dr. Prabhuram Chaudhary said that he has spoken to the collector on the phone and instructed to investigate and asked for a report. Action will be taken against the culprits in this matter.
The family’s claim – they were waiting for doctors for two hours
Rishi of Tinheta village, about 15 km from Bargi, was ill with diarrhea and vomiting on Wednesday morning. Masum was taken to Primary Health Center Bargi by her maternal uncle Pawan Kumar and family at 10 am. The family alleged that there was not a single doctor in the hospital to conduct a medical examination of the child. Only one nurse was on duty.
Rishi’s condition continued to deteriorate and he died in the hospital. Pawan Kumar says that the nurse said that the doctor’s duty is from 10 am to 4 pm, but we kept wandering for treatment in the hospital till 12 pm.
The doctor was busy with a religious program
According to information received from CMHO Jabalpur office, Dr. Lokesh was on duty at Primary Health Center Bargi. He reached the hospital at 12 noon on Wednesday. While the OPD of the hospital starts at 9 am and ends at 4 pm. According to sources, Dr. Lokesh told his seniors that he was late for duty as there was a religious function in the family.
The collector said – the child had already died
Jabalpur Collector T. Ilayaraja says the child died before reaching the hospital. The child did not have any serious illness. One of his legs was burnt, the family was treating him for the last 10 days.
The burned leg developed an infection, prompting family members to take him to the hospital for treatment. After Dr. Lokesh examined the child, the child was declared dead. The family was also told that the child had died before reaching the hospital.
