The most popular form of Lord Ganesha is Siddhivinayak, located in Mumbai, Maharashtra. This form of Lord Ganesha is named Siddhivinayak because Lord Ganesha’s nose is turned to the right. A temple with such an idol of Ganesha is considered a Siddhapeeth. This is why this temple is called Siddhivinayak. Vinayaka is also a name of Lord Ganesha. Siddhivinayak Temple was built on 19 November 1801. In Mumbai, you can go to south Mumbai by local train or cab and bus. If you want to reach Siddhivinayak Temple by local trains, first reach Dadar Railway Station, from there you can take a taxi to Prabhadevi.




However, you can also walk from the station to the temple. The temple is only 15 minutes from Dadar station. The Siddhivinayak temple is open from 5:30 am to 9:50 am. At this time devotees can visit the temple for darshan. Siddhivinayak temple is very crowded on Tuesdays. So, if you want to visit the temple on Tuesday, be prepared for more crowd.




There are two ways to enter the Siddhivinayak temple. You can enter the temple through Siddhi Dwar and Riddhi Dwar. Siddhi Gate allows free entry, but this gate is very crowded. Also, Riddhi Gate is less crowded. You have to pay an entrance fee to enter the temple through this gate. If time is short and you don’t want to stand in a long queue for darshan, you can take this option of darshan by paying money. Apart from this, there are special arrangements for senior citizens, mothers with young children, NRIs and disabled people to enter the temple.
