Heavy rain may fall in these areas in Gujarat today, know what is the latest update

The India Meteorological Department has issued a heavy rain warning for parts of Gujarat for three days till August 24. According to the IMD forecast, heavy rain is likely in North Gujarat and Patan, Dahod, Mahisagar, Valsad and Kutch districts on August 23. Light to moderate rain and thundershowers are expected in Ahmedabad on Monday.

The weather bulletin said that heavy rain is likely at various places in Kutch district on August 24. Apart from heavy rain warning on August 22 and 23, light rain with lightning and 30-40 kmph (tremor) is likely across the state.

A few places including Dharampur, Umargam, Vapi in Valsad in South Gujarat and Kaprada, Khergam, Ganadevi, Chikhli and Vansda in Navsari in Bardoli in Surat received light rain on Sunday. Maliya and Visavdar of Junagadh, Bagsara of Amreli, Ghogha of Bhavnagar and Ranav of Porbadar received light rain.

Gujarat has recorded an average of 97.59 percent rainfall this monsoon season. Among the regions, Kutch region recorded 152 percent, South Gujarat region 108 percent, North Gujarat region 97 percent, Saurashtra 89 percent and East Madhya Pradesh 80.56 percent.
