PM Modi will come again today to Gujarat, will give 'GIFT' to India International Bullion Exchange

The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the headquarters building of the International Financial Services Centers Authority (IFSCA), a unified regulator for the development and regulation of financial products, financial services and financial institutions in International Financial Services Centers (IFSCs) in India.

Gandhinagar: Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Sabarkantha in Gujarat on Thursday. Meanwhile, he inaugurated a cheese plant in Sabarderi. Then on 29th July i.e. today, Prime Minister will again visit Gift City in Gandhinagar. Gift City (Gujarat International Finance Tech-City) was envisioned as an integrated hub for financial and technology services not only for India but for the world.




The Prime Minister will lay the foundation stone for the headquarters building of the International Financial Services Centers Authority (IFSCA), a unified regulator for the development and regulation of financial products, financial services and financial institutions in International Financial Services Centers (IFSCs) in India. The building is envisioned as an iconic structure, reflecting the growing profile and stature of GIFT-IFSC as a leading international financial centre.

The Prime Minister will launch the India International Bullion Exchange (IIBX), India’s first international bullion exchange, at GIFT-IFSC. IIBX will facilitate efficient price discovery with responsible sourcing and quality assurance besides accelerating the financialization of gold in India. It will empower India to take its rightful place in the global bullion market and serve the global value chain with integrity and quality. IIBX also re-enforces the Indian government’s commitment to enable India as a major consumer to influence global bullion prices.

The Prime Minister also inaugurated the first ever Chess Olympiad Torch Relay at the Indira Gandhi National Stadium in New Delhi on June 19, 2022. The torch traveled around 20,000 kilometers over a period of 40 days, passing through 75 iconic places in the country, culminating in Mahabalipuram, FIDE headquarters, Switzerland.




The 44th Chess Olympiad is being held in Chennai from July 28 to August 9, 2022. Organized since 1927, this prestigious competition is being held in India and for the first time in Asia after 30 years. With 187 countries participating, this will be the largest participation in any Chess Olympiad. India is also fielding its biggest ever squad in the competition with 30 players from 6 teams.

The Prime Minister will attend the 42nd Convocation of the prestigious Anna University in Chennai on July 29. During the program he will award gold medals and certificates to 69 gold medal winners. The Prime Minister will also address the gathering on this occasion.




Anna University was established on 4 September 1978. It is named after former Tamil Nadu Chief Minister C.N. Named after Annadurai. It has 13 constituent colleges, 494 affiliated colleges spread across Tamil Nadu and 3 regional campuses – Tirunelveli, Madurai and Coimbatore.
