Two sharp shooters involved in Musewala murder killed in Amritsar: Firing with AK-47, killed in a 5-hour encounter, were about to flee to Pakistan

Two gangsters accused in the murder case of Punjabi singer Sidhu Musewala were gunned down by the Punjab Police in Amritsar on Wednesday. The encounter lasted for about 5 hours in Bhakna village, 10 km from the India-Pakistan border. The names of the gangsters who died are Jagroop Singh Roopa and Manpreet Mannu. 3 policemen were also injured in this operation.

ADGP Pramod Ban of Anti-Gangster Task Force of Punjab Police said that we were chasing the accused of Sidhu Musewala Murder for a few days. Our task force noticed some movement in this area. After getting the secret information, 2 gangsters Jagroop Singh Roopa and Manpreet Singh involved in the murder were killed in the encounter. The team has also recovered an AK-47 and a pistol from the gangsters.




Attari MLA claims – 4 gangsters were killed

The DGP of Punjab Police will give information about the entire operation by holding a press conference in Amritsar at 6 pm. Meanwhile, Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) MLA from Attari (Amritsar) Jaswinder Ramdas has claimed that 4 gangsters have been killed in the encounter.

Hiding in border village trying to escape to Pakistan

The police had received information that gangsters Jagroop Roopa and Manpreet Mannu were on a run to Pakistan after Moosewala’s murder and were staying near the Indo-Pak International Border in Amritsar district. After the murder of Moosewala, the police were searching for Roopa and Mannu for the last 52 days. Both of them were hiding in a house built in the fields in Bhakna village of Amritsar district. The people of Bhakna village told that no one lives in this house.

Sealed an area of 2 km

Anti-Gangster Task Force, Special Operation Cell, Organized Crime Control Unit personnel were involved in the encounter. Apart from this, the best shooter and quick reaction team of the police also reached. During the encounter, the police sealed an area of 2 km. During this time people were instructed to stay in their homes.

Gangsters fired at the police with AK-47

The police surrounded the gangsters at around 11 am. There was heavy firing from both sides in the first two hours. The gangsters opened fire on the police with AK-47 and other weapons. According to the police, the weapons used in Moosewala’s murder were with these gangsters. They kept on attacking the police with these same weapons.

Mannu Kussa was the one who shot Musewala first.

Sharpshooter Mannu Kussa is close to gangster Lawrence and his Canada-based partner Goldie Brar. On May 29, Mannu shot Moosewala with an AK47 in Jawaharke village of Mansa district. Earlier, a video of Mannu beating up in jail was viral. Mannu suspected that the rival Bambiha gang had brought him into disrepute by thrashing him. That’s why he was angry. He was also involved in the murder of Musewala, who is considered close to the Bambiha gang, for the same reason.




Police investigation revealed that Jagroop Singh Roopa and Manpreet Mannu Kusa, who killed Moosewala, continued to roam in Punjab after the murder. According to sources, till the end of June, he was hiding in a village in Tarn Taran. Roopa was a resident of this area. Here another gangster storm had hid him in his farm house. Gangster Raiya was also present with them.

Police arrested 18 helpers of sharp shooters

Priyavart Fauji, Kashish alias Kuldeep and Ankit Sersa were caught by the Special Cell of Delhi Police out of the 6 sharp shooters involved in the Moosewala murder. Jagroop Roopa, Manpreet Mannu Kussa have been killed. Deepak Mundi is still absconding. The Punjab Police has also arrested 18 helpers of sharp shooters and those who conspired to murder in this case.
