PM Modi rained on TMC
On Wednesday, PM Modi addressed BJP workers in West Bengal through the NaMo app and slammed the TMC-led government in the state. PM Modi said that the biggest issue in Bengal is violence and BJP will keep an eye on the happenings in the state.

These leaders have become candidates
While the BJP has re-nominated sitting MP Nisith Pramanik from the party, TMC has fielded Rajbanshi community from Cooch Behar and sitting MLA Jagdish Burma Basunia from Sitai.

Cooch Behar in North Bengal along with Alipurduar and Jalpaiguri in the state have three constituencies that will go to polls on April 19 in the first of the seven phases of the Lok Sabha elections. There are 42 parliamentary constituencies in West Bengal.

In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, the ruling TMC won 22 seats, while the BJP won 18 seats and the Congress had to settle for just two seats.
