Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and RCP Singh resign as ministers, PM praises Modi on last day

Union Minister for Minority Affairs Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi has resigned from the Modi cabinet.

Union ministers Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Ram Chandra Prasad Singh have resigned from the Modi cabinet. Prime Minister Modi during a cabinet meeting on Wednesday lauded the contribution made by Union Ministers Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi and Ram Chandra Prasad Singh to the country. According to sources, PM Modi praised the two ministers during a cabinet meeting today. It may be noted that both the Union Ministers were Rajya Sabha MPs, whose terms are coming to an end tomorrow.

RPC Singh was involved in the Union Cabinet from the JDU. It may be noted that the JDU did not field RPC Singh and the BJP did not field Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi in the Rajya Sabha elections.

After Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi resigned from the Modi cabinet, so far no statement has been made against the government nor has Naqvi responded.

After the cabinet meeting, Naqvi met BJP national president JP Nadda. It is unknown at this time what he will do after leaving the post. But sources say Naqvi’s future role has been discussed in the meantime.

Naqvi was not fielded by the BJP in the biennial Rajya Sabha elections held the previous day. It has since been feared that the party may give him new responsibilities.
