13th Rathyatra organized at Jai Jagannath / ISKCON temple, preparations are in full swing
Like every year, this time too, on the day of unripe seeds, a rath yatra will be organized by the ISKCON temple in the western part of Ahmedabad. This will be the 13th Rathyatra of the ISKCON temple. Preparations are in full swing before the rathyatra at the ISKCON temple. Traditionally, 400 devotees cleaned the ISKCON temple before the rath yatra. This type of traditional cleaning ritual is called ‘Gundicha Marjan’ festival. The chariot is also being prepared. One day before the Rathyatra i.e., Ta. On 30th June 2022, Lord’s ‘Netrounmilan’ festival will be celebrated in which the darshan of Lord Shri Jagannath, brother Baldev and sister Subhadraji will be opened for the devotees.
Next date On 01/07/2022, Lord Shri Jagannath, brother Baldev and sister Subhadraji will be seated in a 35 feet high chariot. The chariot of God will be adorned with a variety of colorful native and foreign flowers. Besides, Lord Shri Jagannath, brother Baldev and sister Subhadraji will be adorned with new clothes.
Before the commencement of the Rathyatra 56 sacrifices will be offered to the Lord and after the Aarti of the Lord the Rathyatra will be formally started.
Rathyatra route
At 04:00 pm, the rathyatra will start from Bileshwar Mahadev, reach Shyamal Char Rasta, Anand Nagar Road, Preranatirtha Derasar, Anandniketan School and reach ISKCON Temple from Ramdevnagar. It is estimated that more than 5,000 townspeople will join the procession. 300 kg kheechadi and mug prasad will be distributed during the rath yatra.
Throughout the Rathyatra, devotees of ISKCON temple will perform kirtan with instruments like Mridang, Kartal. At the same time, the founder of ISKCON, Acharya Shrimad A.C. Books written by Bhaktivedanta Swami Prabhupada will also be distributed.
There will be security arrangements
More than 150 policemen will be deployed during the procession and the entire procession will be monitored by drone cameras. The procession will be started by Pujya Mahant Shambhunathji Maharaj of Sant Sawaiyanath Samadhi and political dignitaries.
Bhandara has also been arranged in the ISKCON temple for all the devotees after the Rathyatra. The entire procession will be led by ISKCON temple president Kalanath Chaitanya Das.
