Hockey legend Varinder Singh passes away, has given India medals in Olympics

Medal in Munich Olympics

After this, Varinder was included in the Indian team that won the silver medal in the World Cup in Amsterdam in 1973. Varinder Singh was also present in the team that won silver medals in 1974 and 1978 Asian Games.
Conferred with Dhyan Chand Lifetime Achievement Award
Varinder Singh was honored with the prestigious Dhyanchand Lifetime Achievement Award in the year 2007. Condoling the death of Varinder, Hockey India said in its release, “Varinder Singh’s achievements will always be remembered in the hockey world.”
