There is good news for people who use Google Maps. Google has announced that users using Google Maps in India will now know the toll prices in advance. This means that you will now see the estimated toll amount for your destination before you start navigating on Google Maps. Toll tax charge has to be paid for traveling on the National Highway. Many times you do not have cash and you do not know how much amount to pay on toll. In such a situation, you can take help of this feature.

The feature is being rolled out on nearly 2,000 toll roads in the USA, India and Indonesia on Google Maps on Android and iOS devices. At the same time, it will be launched soon in other countries as well.

This feature will work like this

Under this feature, Google Maps will use information collected from local authorities to estimate the total cost to be paid for travel to your destination. The total amount will be estimated based on factors such as the cost of using the toll pass or other payment method, the day of the week, and the amount of toll the user is expected to collect at the specified time of crossing the toll plaza.

It will also show an alternative option with toll-free route to those who do not want to pay toll. Once this feature is rolled out, you can do so by tapping on the three dot in the top right corner of Google Maps and selecting “Avoid Tolls”. When this feature was announced in April, the company also announced a new Google Maps update for iOS users. Its purpose was to make it easier to use on Apple Watch or iPhone.
