Hanuman Chalisa controversy in Maharashtra: High Court refuses to quash second FIR; Said- the greater the responsibility, the greater the responsibility

The Rana couple has not got relief from the High Court in the ongoing controversy over Hanuman Chalisa in Maharashtra. MP Navneet Rana and her husband MLA Ravi Rana had moved the Bombay High Court for quashing of the second FIR (Section 353 of IPC) registered against them, which was dismissed by the court after a long hearing.

During the hearing of the matter, the court said that the leaders are expected to behave with a sense of responsibility. However, giving some relief to the Rana couple with respect to the second FIR, the High Court observed that if the state government wants to initiate any action under the second FIR, 72 hours’ notice will be required to be issued to the petitioners before taking such action.

Wadettiwar abused Rana couple
Earlier in the day, Minister Vijay Wadettiwar said at the health camp program in Chandrapur that Navneet Rana and Ravi Rana have created an atmosphere of unrest in the country at this time. They have deliberately created unrest and created law and order situation in Mumbai, what is their purpose, I do not know.

Wadettiwar further said, ‘Navneet says that the Chief Minister should read Hanuman Chalisa, if he does not read then we will go to Matoshree and teach him Hanuman Chalisa. Hey what happened to your father? Say whatever you want to speak, go and study where you want to study, but no-no Uddhav Thackeray should speak. Is your father’s servant? Such despicable, rough and h**me people, who are in this country and are getting Hanuman Chalisa to be recited to create a quarrel amongst themselves. There is Hanuman Chalisa in every house, people read it. In Hinduism, before marriage, we see Hanumanji.

‘Not allowed to drink water, not allowed to go to the bathroom’: Navneet’s letter to the speaker

Meanwhile, Independent MP from Amravati Navneet Rana has written a letter to Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla making very serious allegations against the Mumbai Police and the jail administration. He said that he was neither given water nor being allowed to use the washroom in the jail as he came from a scheduled caste.

Navneet Rana made these serious allegations in his letter

● In his letter, Navneet Rana wrote – It is my sincere and true belief that the Shiv Sena under the leadership of Uddhav Thackeray has completely deviated from its clear ‘Hindutva’ principles for obvious reasons. They have betrayed the public mandate and formed a post-poll alliance with the Congress-NCP.

● With the genuine hope of rekindling the Hindutva flame in Shiv Sena, I had announced that I would go to the Chief Minister’s residence and chant “Hanuman Chalisa” outside his residence. It was not meant to incite any religious tension.

● In fact, I had invited the Chief Minister to join the chanting of “Hanuman Chalisa”. I reiterate that my action was not against the Chief Minister.

● However, considering that my work may lead to a deteriorating law and order situation in Mumbai, I publicly decided to withdraw from the said exercise and announced that I would not be visiting the CM residence. I was imprisoned in my house with my husband MLA Ravi Rana.

● I was taken to Khar Police Station on 23.04.2022 and on this day I spent the night in Police Station. I asked several times for drinking water throughout the night, but drinking water was not provided to me throughout the night.

● It was a matter of shock to me that the police personnel present there told me that I belong to Scheduled Caste and hence they will not give me water in the same glass. Thus, I was directly harassed on the basis of my caste and was not provided drinking water for this reason alone.

● I again emphasize that basic human rights like drinking water were denied to me on the ground that I belong to a Scheduled Caste (lower caste). Also, when I wanted to use the bathroom at night, the police personnel did not pay heed to my demands. I was again abused in the filthiest language. I was told that we do not allow lower caste people to use our bathroom.

Raut made public the report of fake birth certificate
