Metro to become Ahmedabad's lifeline, 40 km corridor to be completed by August

The first phase of 40 km of Ahmedabad Metro Rail Project is targeted to be completed by August 2022. The Metro is targeted to start in the Western Region by the end of August. Although the Metro would have started early but due to land acquisition issues and cores the project could not be completed on time.
AHMEDABAD: Work is in full swing to run metro in the western part of the city after the east. A 40-kilometer metro corridor has been prepared from east to west. In which 32 stations have been built. The 32 stations will be equipped with state-of-the-art technology ranging from elevators to CCTV. Work on the corridor from Vastral to Thaltej and from Motera to APMC is nearing completion. Construction and electrical work of the station is in progress.

Route 1 – Vastral Village, Vastral, Rabari Colony, Amraiwadi, Apparel Park, Kankaria East, Kalupur Railway, Station, Ghikanta, Shahpur, Commerce Six Roads, Gujarat University, Gurukul Road, Doordarshan Kendra, Thaltej and Thaltej Village
Route 2 – Motera, Sabarmati, Sabarmati Railway Station, Ranip, Vadaj, Vijayanagar, Usmanpura, Gandhigram, Paldi, Shreyas, Rajiv Nagar, Jivraj, apmc and Gyaspur Depot.

East and West Ahmedabad is flooded. So the idea of metro for transportation was put forward. The dream of Metro in Ahmedabad is now going to change into a reality.
Why Metro Train is needed. So there are 44 lakh vehicles in Ahmedabad city. 25379 four wheeler registrations have been done in Ahmedabad city in 2020-21. While 49430 two wheelers are reported. So in 2021-22 Four Wheeler 33653 have been registered and 70832 Two Wheeler has been registered. This means that every year more than 1 lakh vehicles come on the road in Ahmedabad city gj 01. The traffic problem is increasing day by day. Then the metro train will start so it will be easier to go from east to west of Ahmedabad and Ahmedabad will become the lifeline of the city.
