On Thursday, hundreds of protesters tried to storm his residence in the capital Colombo, demanding the resignation of Sri Lankan President Gotabaya Rajapaksa. Buses and vehicles closed due to shortage of diesel

Two-thirds of the country’s buses and vehicles are operated by the private sector. Their operators say that from today even isolated buses will not be able to run.
12 hour power cut
Sri Lanka’s state-run electricity company has started a 12-hour cut because of non-availability of electricity for generators. This is the biggest cut ever in the history of the country. In 20 power zones, 4 hours alternate and a total of 12 hours cut has been announced.
