Landslides, cloudbursts, river overflows.., 8 dead, many missing in Uttarakhand due to stormy weather
उत्तराखंड में पिछले 24 घंटों से लगातार भारी बारिश हो रही है, जिसके कारण पहाड़ों से लेकर मैदानों तक पानी ही पानी नजर आ रहा है. यहां बारिश के कारण अब तक 8 लोगों की मौत हो चुकी है.

Due to heavy rains in Uttarakhand since Wednesday morning, there have been cloud bursting incidents at two separate places. A cloudburst incident took place in Ghansali of Tihri. Apart from this, around 150 to 200 people are trapped after the cloudburst incident at Bhim Bali Gadera on the route of Kedarnath Padyatra.
Uttarakhand has been experiencing continuous heavy rains for the past 24 hours, due to which only water is visible from the hills to the plains. Also, due to heavy rain in Gaurikund on Kedarnath road, the hot lake has been washed away. As a precautionary measure, the administration has evacuated Gaurikund. The Meteorological Department has issued an alert for heavy rain in 7 districts of Uttarakhand.
Rivers and drains are overflowing due to heavy rain in the hilly areas and Nautad Tok in Bhilangana block area of Tihri was damaged due to heavy rain and cloudburst late yesterday evening. A hotel was washed away due to a cloudburst here, leaving three people, including the hotel owner, missing. The dead bodies of two of them have been recovered and the youth has been rescued in an injured condition.
On the other hand, heavy debris and stones have fallen on the road after the cloudburst in Bhima Balina Gadera on the Kedarnath Padyatra route. About 30 meters of footpath has been damaged and around 150-200 passengers are said to be stranded there. After the accident, the traffic on the pedestrian road has been stopped. No casualties reported yet. Due to continuous rains, the water level of Mandakini river in Kedarnath Dham is rising rapidly.
The rains continue to wreak havoc in these areas and so far 8 people have died due to the rains, while 5 people are missing. Three people have died due to cloudburst in Tihri. While one person died and one person went missing in Dehradun. One woman died in Chamoli while two children died in Haridwar. News of two children drowning in separate incidents in Halwadni and Bageshwar while one person died in Nainital.
