Masik Durgashtami: The fast of Monthly Durgashtami of Ashadh month is being observed on Thursday, July 07.

Masik Durgashtmi 2022: Durgashtami fasting is done every month during the Ashtami Tithi of Shukla Paksha. On this day, devotees worship Goddess Durga and observe a whole day’s fast for her. This time the monthly Durgashtami is falling during Gupt Navratri. In such a situation, the importance of this Durga Ashtami Vrat increases even more. Monthly Durgashtami fast of Ashadh month will be observed on Thursday, July 07.

Worshiping Maa Durga on this day brings positivity in life, along with the special grace of Maa Durga. The main Durgashtami, called Mahashtami, falls during the nine-day Shardiya Navratri festival in the month of Ashwin. Durgashtami is also written as Durga Ashtami and Monthly Durgashtami is also known as Maas Durgashtami.

The Ashtami of Gupt Navratri is also falling on Durgashtami of this Ashadh month. Gupt Navratri fast is kept for fulfillment of secret desires. It is believed that due to the monthly Durgashtami falling in the midst of Gupt Navratri, one gets the fruits that he asks for.

Ashtami date starts on 6th July 2022 from 07:48 PM.

Ashtami date ends on 7th July 2022 till 07:28 PM.

Masik Durgashtmi Puja Vidhi: Monthly Durgashtami Puja Method
On this day, first of all take a bath in the morning to worship Goddess Durga.

After this, anoint the mother with Gangajal.

Light a lamp of ghee in front of the picture or idol of Maa Durga.

After this, offer Akshat, red flowers, vermilion and flower garlands to Maa Durga.

Offer fruits and sweets as prasad.

After this recite Durga Chalisa, Durga Saptashati.

Perform aarti of Maa Durga.

After the worship is over, feed the Brahmins.
